Put A Donk On It - Blackout Crew (2008)

the genre-busting in this video/track is wonderfully ridiculous. as Jake Elliott sez about it: "we have an idea for a genre of music that is just a bunch of other genres except with a donk on it... it's called 'donk'!" amazing... - jonCates

  "i know, LOL" - Jake Elliott + Nicholas O'Brien (2008)
yesterdaze Jake Elliott + Nicholas O'Brien created a short-lived Twitter Art project/account which has now "been suspended due to strange activity". i immediately Tweeted about it calling it Twitter Art, LOL.ART or webArt but Twitter calls it "spammy behavior."

Following the now suspended accout takes you to a standard explaination of why the account may be suspended. The reasons incl "If you are sending large numbers of @reply messages that are not genuine replies, you may be considered spam."

Their project, called "i know, LOL" was an account by the same name which was based on the Twitter API + listened for ppl saying "LOL" + then automatically replied to those Twitter users, saying "i know, LOL!"

what interests me here is that these (automated) replies were "
not genuine" from the perspective of Twitter + that this form of Twitter Art, LOL.ART, webArt, New Media Art, etc... can so easily be understood/interpreted as "spammy behavior."

In Linz, Stadtwerkstatt grew out of various influences such as Fluxus, Beuy´s concept of social sculpture, the squatter scene and punk, with the intention to shape living environments with the collective power of a community. Esslinger and Kepplinger will detail the beginnings of Stadtwerkstatt as well as it's more recent Media Art projects:

Night of the Cephalopods! - Spooky Squid Games (2008)

Night of the Cephalopods! - Spooky Squid Games (2008)

/* this indy game looks great + im xcited to play it. the documentation video below made by the developers of the game details the unique waze in which audio/dynamic voice over is used in this game:

Night of the Cephalopods! gameplay documentation video - Spooky Squid Games (2008)

also, in this game health is a measurement of a madness to sanity ratio while madness is also a form of enlightenment in the Lovecraftian Cthulhu Mythos. in the video above there is a moment when this concept is annotated/explained:

"The face shows how mad the player has been driven."

i love this concept. b/c madness is enlightenment in the Lovecraftian Cthulhu Mythos + the complete abject destruction of the world is an inevietability, i am wondering about the waze in which success or winning is constructed in this game... i will have to download, startup windoze + play thru it... */
