(above is a video is documentation of a section of I <3 Presets website, an aspect of their ongoing project. The I <3 Presets website is itself a work of experimental New Media Art, Web Art, digitalPunk, Dirty New Media, glitchery && Noise. This site is also a part of the ongoing I <3 Presets project, a project that is most often articulated as a realtime audio video + noise project. I <3 Presets is a Chicago-based Noise band + an experimental Media Art project:
"As I LOVE PRESETS, Chicago-based sound and new media artists Rob Ray, Jon Satrom, and Jason Soliday do everything wrong the right way. The trio manipulates found sounds and animated GIFs on home-brewed equipment in spectacular live audio/video performances, breaking down, complicating, and glorifying instrument settings, tool presets, and art-making interfaces normally accepted as fixed and stable. From Excel spreadsheets and video games to hacked Casios and discarded drum machines, any and everything electronic is fair game. Tonight, the trio will play several new pieces and demo their latest instruments and a video game."

Jesper Juul writes in his "Ludologist blog entry Indie Games (like Braid) are Punk Rock" that we should rly wear “I hate World of Warcraft” t-shirts to exxxpress an anti-commercial digitalPunk approach to indy gaming + (i would add) a critical approach to Art Games, as a hystorical reference to a 1970's punk refusal of the bourgeois values, decadence, scale, supposed grandeur + escapism of 1970's psychedilic, symphonic, prog +/or stadium rock. this hystorical reference is specifically to Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols wearing a handMade/defaced "I Hate Pink Floyd" t-shirt... this is the fast, cheap + small scale commitment to "dirty new media art" that we are also attempting to articulate in various projects such as jake elliott's "Dirty New Media" presentation @ the most recent (+ perhaps last) HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth) conference, our collaborative projects such as 4RtcR4x0Rz + our open, ongoing + decentralized organization of (A) r4WB1t5 micro.Fest

"THE FAULTLESS is an undead metaphor floating in pirate waters, singing digital punk rock karaoke remixes of songs written by punk bands that jonCates was in during his teenage years in the 1980s. This one man skeleton of a digital punk rock show crashes computer systems while screaming lyrics from political texts that analyze fascism, totalitarianism and nostalgia. THE FAULTLESS celebrates pirates, piracy, broken codes and dirty new media. THE FAULTLESS' multimedia performances combine electro and digital punk errorism, channeling the zeitgeist of mid 1990's Digital Hardcore through various punk rock personal hystories. If "Punk is not Dead!" then THE FAULTLESS lives by the motto "Pink is not Red!"
